What affect has zazzle had on your life in 25 words or more | Zazzle has given me a productive outlet for my artistic side. For years I drew or painted as an hobby, my artwork got compliments from friends and family and sometimes I would give them away as presents. Now a much bigger world can see my work, to hate it or love it. And now I can make money off of my work, which is a very big plus. Zazzle has taken a hobby of mine and turned it into a business, which is much more rewarding than a simple hobby! |

What was your favorite design to make & why? (whether it has sold or not pick just 1 & include the link to the product page NOT the image link) | My design that I had the most fun making was the Vintage Rocket Launch, It is not the most technical, colorful, or most difficult piece I've done but it was the first fully complete digital painting I had ever done mixing 2D and 3D elements, both CG and photo manipulated. And I'm glad I did it, seems to be a good seller. |

What affect has zazzle had on your life in 25 words or more | Rather than just stuff my drawings into a bookshelf, now they have more of a purpose. The chance that one day a person could make a substantial amount of money by doing this is something I never thought possible. The rush of selling something is addicting.. it carries you through to the next idea. Zazzle can only motivate that person who thinks that their art is just a hobby or a waste of time. The whole idea is brilliant and the possibilities for artists are endless. |

I love that my humble little designs are seen and bought and appreciated all over the world. It's an ego boost. Every time I get a sale I can't wait to get in there and see what someone bought. It inspires me to keep designing. I started with Zazzle as a hobby and a way to interact with other artists. I don't do it full time, but for me that's a plus. I love that I can work at my own pace, post designs when I want to or when I have time, and I love the response I get from other Zazzlers when I share my designs (the Zazzle community is the best by far!) and of course, I love the response and feedback from happy customers.

This print, featuring my favorite (and most popular) character in my shop, Holly Cow, has become my all-time favorite product in my shop (so far!). For me, everything just fell into place and the design came out exactly as I had hoped. Better, actually, in my humble opinion. The colors, the composition, and for me, the subject -- all perfect. I just love Autumn!

Dream Gifts
How did you pick your store(s) name(s)?
(feel free to write up each shop name if they each have a story) * The name reflects the link between some of my designs that originated in virtual digital worlds and the how dreams, desires, hopes and satisfaction could be expressed through those designs in real products and gifts.
The original themes of creating awareness of endangered species, specifically Lemurs of Madagascar and Raffelesia, the worlds largest flower, and the value of music for all has since expanded to cover a diverse range of unusual and unique designs and gifts, both contemporary and vintage.

This lemur exists as a 'virtual soft toy' that I created as a shoulder pet for avatars in the virtual world of Openlife, where sales contribute to WWF. Sifa is her name and is of special importance as her design was the basis of the store's first product range (and she's cute as well).
The guitars in this design I also created as 'virtual guitars' played by several live musicians from Second Life on the Openlife Grid. The design here in red white and blue reflects an international dimension of patriotism as these three colors are the main colors of some 30 nations on our planet, not just USA and the UK.
My third favorite is a tropical fish design that promotes 'Freedom of the Seas', shown here with the text in Irish Gaelic on a sweatshirt
Multi-color Tropical Fish Swimming Free Sweatshirt by DigitalDreambuilder
Browse more Freedom T-Shirts
It's followed closely by a design featuring the Common Tern in a, perhaps whimsical, digitally treated fractal design :
For final choice the design has to be one of my Irish Shamrock designs, an unusual golden green shamrock that also was 'born' in a virtual world and brought to life here on a range of T Shirts and products. And since my roots are in Ireland they are close to my heart.
Do you have shops on other PODs? No - Zazzle is my 1st & only POD

Jerry's Sweet Store
How did you pick your store(s) name(s)?
(feel free to write up each shop name if they each have a story) *
There is a sticky thread in the Zazzle Everything Else forums that explains this in detail, I'll post an excerpt here. While at work one day I was looking at my Zazzle earnings and my boss asked me what I was doing so I showed her my store. It didn't have much in it at the time and was still called "Jerry's Store". Her only critique of my store was that "the name was stupid". She said it was all generic. So I asked her what I should name it. She had been on a huge Napoleon Dynamite kick at that time and she said "Jerry's Sweet Store". For some reason it was really funny to us. Anyway that's what I named it. I even made a cheesy generic banner right then and there. She probably doesn't even remember it, she was just acting goofy like always. This is why office jobs are cool.

What are your 5 favorite designs from your store(s) and why?
(include the url to the product pages)
1. My favorite is Too Cool 4 School because it was one of my first designs, it is a little different from what I normally do and it was inspired by someone I love, and I like the design/model combination here at Zazzle.
2. My Starfish design. I don't know why I like this one so much, it is a recent creation. This one was inspired by my nephew, he went to the beach and I told him to find me a starfish, not thinking he would remember, but he did and brought me one back. Afterwards I created this little dude in homage to his consideration while he was down there having fun. All in all I think it turned out really well and I have fallen in love with it.
3. My Zombie. I created this dude one night after a zombie film fest with some friends. The design isn't necessarily one of my best but it brings back memories of a wonderful night with friends and he sells. I made several versions of him, even one for St. Patrick's Day but I like him best on the Keds so I will link to that one because I don't have a section or specific tag for this Zombie.
4. Doxie in the Snow. This one is photography. I like this one because it is a picture of my baby girl and she is sooo cute in this picture. Snuggle Bugs Pooper Babs Peebody Mackenzie.
5. My Obama Penny. The reason I have to put this one on the list is because it made me a ton of cash. I did this one right after Obama announced his candidacy and it bought my TV, the computer I am using right now (a nice one), a tablet laptop and paid my house off, not to mention it bought me and my friends lots of beers.

Before Zazzle I would have had to get a full time job to make ends meet. Since I've been at Zazzle and made it to the first level of ProSeller Status (Bronze) I only need to work half the hours so now I am looking for part time to full time. I don't have to turn down that part time job now, since I will make enough to pay bills and as I progress to full time hours it will only mean my Zazzle earnings will be money I might be able to save.
It has also given me the freedom to express myself in so many ways. I just love using graphics to create products for my Store. I love stretching my imagination way outside the box to see what I can come up with as far as new ideas and designs.
With this new sense of freedom I have gained more confidence than I have in my entire life. I must say, Zazzle is the BEST thing that has ever happened to me. I am so glad I found it!
Not to mention all the wonderful people I've met through the Zazzle Forums. I would suggest, as soon as you start on Zazzle, you go to the forums. You will not only learn more than you can imagine, you will learn how to promote, market and sell yourself. And, if taken the time to give them a chance, you will find some many very good people and even friendships. This is the one place in the world where I feel like I fit right in. And that's saying a lot for me.

My little "I Love My Chihuahua Postage Stamp" of course! The reason is pretty obvious I suppose. I have always loved Chihuahuas ever since I had one as a kid. I was ten years old when "Tiny" came into my life. It was love at first site and forever!
I now have a little Chi Chi doggie who just turned seven this summer on May 25th. She is the love of my life and provides me companionship I have never found with people. All you dog lovers out there know exactly what I mean.

As a stay at home Mom, it has been my salvation! Prior to deciding to stay at home, I had several jobs - my degree is in leisure services and I had used in almost every way you can. I'm a jill-of-all-trades and get bored extremely easily; add to that a compulsive need to 'create' and you have a person who could never do the same thing year after year. With Zazzle, I have the freedom to indulge my creativity in so many different ways - that I always have something that I'm excited about. Noteable Expressions is actually my second store and handles most of my wedding invitations, save the date cards and such, business cards and other stationery needs. My other store, Notions by Nique, is much more eclectic with t-shirts, mugs, and almost everything Zazzle can do.

4 I am a Navy veteran DAV VFW member
5 I enjoy promoting others and seeing them succeed.

What is the best advice you received since starting zazzle? Organize your site from early on.
If you were watching TV and saw an actor in a sitcom wearing your shirt/your poster or card was in the set what would you do? Let the world of Zazzle know.
If you were shopping for a new T shirt and had to choose from someone else's zazzle shop which product would you buy and why? Toughest question ever, since there are so many. MarianaEwa Site: I like the unique design and the intricate color scheme.

1) My ambulance, since it was the first cartoon I took out of retirement from 1987 and converted it to a computerized graphic. It was a simple sketch I did with my first corporation I owned at the age of 23.
2) Cartoon Red Headed Parrot. It was the first time I decided to add more depth and humor into a design. It was fun and whimsical.
3) 3D School Bus. It took over twenty hours of work, but it was a real challenge since I designed it solely using the computer and no sketching.

Hardluck Studios Human Rights Artwork
Tell me 5 things everyone should know about you
1 We quit our day jobs in 2007 to become full time artists. We're in our late forties so it has been an adjustment and an adventure. I wouldn't go back for anything in the world!
2 Hardluck Studios is located on Hardluck Drive near Fairbanks Alaska. Our motto is "It's not that it's all bad luck; it's just plain hard luck." This statement truly describes they way things happen for us. After going through a period of struggle, we suddenly find a great reward. It makes us laugh every single day.
3 Our artist, Dubh, primarily creates watercolor paintings to invoke peaceful thought processes and inspire others to create a better relationship with their fellow humans and the planet we all share. Avery Clemmons is our very talented graphics artist and he creates delightful fantasy pieces. I'm Susie, and I do everything else; marketing, zazzle product creation, etc.
4 We sell our original artwork at hardluckstudios.net, and we also just branched out into commercial sign painting to assist in surviving the downed economy.
5 We offer free limited licensing for use of our activist images for causes that support human rights, environmental protection, and peaceful protest.
How and when did you find zazzle?
I found zazzle on a google search for print on demand services. We had been using CafePress, but were disappointed in the services they provided. We've found Zazzle to be more user friendly, it has more creative options, and it offers a whole lot more in the way of promotional tools for free! Better support, too.
What is the best advice you received since starting zazzle?
Clearly organized shop, and we recently started checking out the forum. Lots of great advice and friendly people willing to help! It's like an online co-op for artists.
If you were watching TV and saw an actor in a sitcom wearing your shirt/your
poster or card was in the set what would you do?
I'm sure we'd be excited and start calling friends and family to share the good news. It would be great to have an image of them wearing it to post on the site, too.
If you could choose any gift for your birthday from any shop other than your
own, which would you choose and why?
That's a tough one; I see so much great stuff I'd love to have if I had the money. These shoes are great!
Do you have any formal art or computer training?
No, and it's been a tremendous learning experience. I'm glad I had the time and took the opportunity to do it.

Gothic Toggs
Tell me 5 things everyone should know about you
1 I'm a hopeless romantic.
2 My 5 children are my whole world and the best thing I ever created.
3 I have to be creating something all the time, whether it's cooking, gardening, or my art. I am a typical Virgo that way ;)
4 I will give the shirt off my back to anyone who needs it, as long as they ask, I can't stand a thief. It rather denotes a lack of honor. Guess I'm basically an old fashioned girl.
5 I take my self too seriously sometimes.
How and when did you find zazzle?
It was a complete accident. I was running an occult forum at the time ( almost 2 years ago now ) and we were kicking around the idea of bumper stickers or keychains or t-shirts to sell to the members to help off set the cost of upkeep. I just searched custom t-shirts on a whim and came up with Zazzle.
So I opened Sanguin Lover, and created the t-shirts, some older members may remember seeing them in the store. The forum was called House Prytania.
Anyway, I posted the T-shirts, and made a couple of other ones from things that had been kicking around our family for a while. Just text at that point, I knew nothing about computer graphics at that point.
I already had over 200 products in my store by the time I made my first sale one month later. I was hooked =)
The forum is long gone but the stores live on!
Do you have any formal art or computer training?
I don't have any formal computer training. Everything there is self-taught trial and error. I took my first "real" art class in 4th grade. And every year after that all the way to graduation. Everything from Art History, to Ceramics.
What advice would you give a friend if they wanted to try zazzling?
That it's the most fun you can have making money ( well, LEGALLY anyway in most states ;p ) And never feel like your work isn't good enough. Because it's a very big world out there with tons of people in it. There is bound to be somebody who "get's " what you were trying to say.
What would you say if you were introduced to a stranger and they were wearing one of your Tshirts?
I would smile my brightest smile, offer them my hand and say a very heartfelt thank you.
If you had to pick a birthday card for someone, from any shop that is NOT yours, which would you pick and why?
Easily, I would have to say Myka Jelina or Alessandra Fusi. They both have a wonderful grasp of color and playfulness in their work. I have been a fan of Myka Jelina for years, literally. And found Ms. Fusi after joining Zazzle. Both are just awesome artists.

Dazzle Designs
Tell me 5 things everyone should know about you
1. I am an Englishman living just outside of London.
2. I recently lived and traveled around New Zealand for a year. An amazing experience.
3. While in New Zealand, I met my girlfriend, who lives in Minnesota, USA (the coldest place on planet earth during the winter!!). I now spend most of my life on Skype, hugging a computer monitor.
4. My dream is to be a comedy writer, I am in the process of writing a sit-com script.
5. I love taking photos of anything and everything. It is so addictive. The beauty of photgraphy is you don't need to go anywhere special to take photos, your subjects are everywhere. I believe it's about having the creativity to make a good photo from what is around you.
How and when did you find zazzle?
It was my mother who actually found Zazzle. She came across it by chance and wanted to show me a product on it. As I looked at the product, I noticed the create/sell options at the top of the page. The rest, as they say, is history!
Do you have any formal art or computer training?
I have very limited experience in Adobe Photoshop from my school days, that's about it. I barely remember anything though. Recently I have been trying to re-train myself using a similar free program called Gimp. I can do very basic things with it, however I feel a bit like a blind man trying to navigate an obstacle course, as it takes me so long to get anything done! I need to lock myself in a room for a day with the program and force myself to become fully accustomed to it.
What is the best advice you received since starting zazzle?
That a LOT of hard work is needed to make a success of your shop/s. If you are looking to just put up a few designs and watch the money roll in, then think again!
If you were watching TV and saw an actor in a sitcom wearing your shirt/your
poster or card was in the set what would you do?
I would probably ask myself if I was actually dreaming. It's the sort of thing I would dream about (sad I know!). Then I'd probably send a SMS text to everyone I know telling them of this historic day. What a selling point to have on your site...Chandler from friends was wearing my T-shirt!
If you were shopping for a new T shirt and had to choose from someone else's
zazzle shop which product would you buy and why?
I love funny T-shirts. Anything which makes me laugh is always a winner.

So many to choose from but I went for a mix:
1. Exploded Diagram Blueprint Tie: I am particularly proud of this product as I recently won a 'Today's Best Award' for it. Unique and quirky are words I'd use to describe this exploded view of a mechanical blueprint.
2. Cottontop Tamarin Monkey Poster: A picture of a Cottontop Tamarin monkey which I took in New Zealand. One of my greatest photos, I love it.
3. Girlfriend Vs Football T-shirt: I like to use my shop as a chance to promote my humor and one example is this T-shirt.
