Know who YOU are. What is your style? What is your niche? Be able to look at the marketplace, and by that I mean the real world marketplace - what are the trends in the area you're working in? What colors, sayings, imagery? Make sure you're relevant to the real world customer and then work your fingers to the bone! That said, and acknowledging that trends are important, don't run around looking at everyone else's work at Zazzle and doing the same thing. Be yourself. Bring something new to the marketplace. Push the envelope, try some things that might not be your personal taste and see how they do. Test things. Get out of your comfort zone - but through it all be true to the core of who you are and what makes you tick. Oh! And give great customer service. If you customize things, get right back to people and keep your promises. Customer requests are often things that a lot of people are looking for and can become great sellers for you. Everything you've every heard about business still applies at Zazzle. |
