*25 words or more please *

I've gotten so much excellent advice from the forums that it's hard to say what was the most important. I would have to say though that what I have read that stuck with me the most is that is takes a lot of hard work, time and patience to be really successful. It's helped me to remain positive while putting in all the ground work. After that I would say the advice to make your own Quick Create templates. It's really not difficult and helps save hours of time. Also to try to think like your customers and work your designs for them and not yourself. My store would be pretty bland if I only designed what I wanted for me and besides it's actually fun to do things out of your normal "comfort zone" so to speak. Of course also to promote, promote & promote. That is my next challenge so I'll be back to the forums on a regular basis to really learn how to do that successfully. But I guess the most important thing is to have fun at what you do. Those that can do what they love and be successful are really fortunate.

The first thing I would encourage a new shopkeeper with is to hang in there even when sales don't come right away. Any new venture takes time to take root.

Promote the shop via FB, twitter and blogs and get the word out about your new shop and eventually people will discover it.

    sunbonnet_sue

How did you pick your store(s) name(s)?
(feel free to write up each shop name if they each have a story) *

Time, patience, and bursts of inspiration at random moments. Then I settle on something imaginative and practical. Sometimes the names are obvious.

Sunbonnet Sue* - I have known sunbonnet sue quite well as I have had one particular sunbonnet sue quilt for as long as I can remember - it could be said, she grew up with me. It was time to bring this typically old-fashioned character into a modern age. Having set out to design a modern sunbonnet sue, the result was complete success. Zazzle was also partly responsible for the full name - Sunbonnet Sue* - because of the recommended use of the Zazzle star, which now symbolizes, "Sunbonnet Sue, a Star" which to me, she is.

Quiltsmith - Combining the talents of a quilt artisan with a tech savvy artist and shutterbug, results in practical and useful works of quilt art - a value which melds with Zazzle in providing practical works of art which are useful and decorative works for around the home. A quiltsmith is a person who creates works of quilted art, or in other words is an experienced quilter in both practicality and art creating useful quilts and visually pleasing or entertaining quilted wall hangings. Quiltsmith.Net expanding to Zazzle was inevitable.

The Halloween Spirit - Implying to keep the Halloween spirit, and taking it out of the hands of Grinches and Gritches as mentioned on www.TakeBackHalloween.com. The Halloween Spirit at Zazzle is about Halloween (which does not include violence and gore, which are not concepts synonymous with Halloween). An individual holiday celebrated in many ways by many people, Halloween without trick-or-treating door to door doesn't mean the end of Halloween. Entertaining and celebrating with decorations, costumes, or having a party are only a few ways to celebrate this fun holiday break before winter.

What are your 5 favorite designs from your store(s) and why?
(include the url to the product pages)

Among my favourites and in no particular order:

Lady Sunbonnet Sue and the Unicorn Tapestry:
This design is inspired by classic unicorn tapestries of the 15th-16th centuries. It is a traditional and modern design for kids and adults alike.
    http://www.zazzle.com/sunbonnet_sue/gifts?cg=196462350367597595

    Sunshine Yellow Quilted Heart:
This photographed design is beautifully simple. Through the use of light, the quilted design detail radiates the symbolism of love and friendship.
    http://www.zazzle.com/sunshine_yellow_quilted_heart_card-137628790581973652

    Silhouette Hill House:
This design of a haunted Halloween house in silhouette by purple lightning embodies the Halloween spirit of a dark, spooky, fun, and lighthearted Halloween, without horror or violence. This is about a happy, safe, and haunted Halloween.
    http://www.zazzle.com/thehalloweenspirit/gifts?cg=196113112044809738

    Sly Pumpkin:
When the personality in the soul of a jack-o-lantern comes through, one must be pleased.
    http://www.zazzle.com/thehalloweenspirit/gifts?cg=196108340734309273

    The One Not Yet Created:
Number five are the designs still uncreated in my mind. All of them in my Zazzle stores only in my minds eye, among them are some of my favourites due to originality, humour, personality, emotion.... It would be wrong to ignore them merely due to their lack of existence in the tangible world.
