What is your favorite thing to do when not Zazzling? *	Besides drawing and learning new techniques on YouTube, I enjoy watching music videos, cartoons that inspire me, and looking at other people's art on the internet. While friends and family will tell you they are good, there is nothing that validates you more than having someone buy something you created. The feeling you get just spurs you on to improve your work and produce more.

I guess the most important thing I've learned is to organize your shop by design. That way it's easier for the customers to find what they like, and for the shop owner the store is easier to manage that way.

What is the most important thing you have learned since starting on zazzle? *	I've learned a lot, but mostly how to keep my eyes open as I walk through life... There's always an opportunity for a design, so I'm constantly making mental notes. I've also learned that the world is made up of individuals - all with their own tastes and style. I've sold multiple designs that I thought would never see the light of day - and designed other items that collect dust in my shop. Mostly I've learned that Zazzlers are a great community of people - and I'm honored to be part of such a fun and creative group.
Do you consider yourself an Artist selling art, or a Business person selling products which happen to be art? *	Both - every product contains art, even if it is not in my taste I will offer it for sale, since that is what the customers want
What do you enjoy most about zazzle? *	I get a rush out of creating a design and then actually seeing it sold. I still get a great thrill knowing that something I've designed at two in the morning ends up in the hands of someone who really wants it. And wears/uses it proudly.

How has zazzle changed your life? *	Zazzle has changed my life by allowing me to pursue a hobby while still maintaining an income for the work that I put in. It has also allowed me to share a passion, one for vintage art, typography and natural images, with a larger audience than I could normally reach.

I think for a lot of people Zazzle is simply a place to through up a design on a bunch of merchandise and hopefully sell it. My advice would be to take it more seriously than that and actually put some thought into not only your designs, but also the products you present them on. A design may not be perfect for every single product that Zazzle offers. This means you may need to alter the design, add to it or change the size. Or maybe you should not create that certain type of product at all with the design because it just doesn't work! Of course this is all trial and error, as well as experimentation with all that Zazzle has to offer. But I think with time and effort anyone can become an excellent curator of quality products!

What do you do when you are not zazzling? *	When not Zazzling I have an actual life which involves real-world jobs, pressures and distractions. As a freelance designer, I specialize in creating effective websites and brand collateral for Clients. Design work is sometimes supplemented with stints in retail where I enjoy developing my people skills!

Which do you prefer and why? 1 Mega Store or Several Niche Stores *	I prefer several niche stores, each with a smaller focus. Not only does this keep things cleaner and more organized for the Zazzler, but also for the customer! A niche store affords the opportunity to establish and communicate a distinct brand image. An emotional connection is often the deciding factor when making a sale and this is only enhanced by such a strong, focused range of products.

What advice would you share with a friend or family member if they wanted to join zazzle? *	I would say if you have a vision, then be relentless, concentrate on organization and put your nose to the grindstone. I am a firm believer in following thru on a project and not allowing short term results to erode a person's confidence. Anyone with the proper technical skills, work ethic and desire to learn can be successful if they are willing to stay the course for the first year or so.

What do you do when you are not zazzling? *	I fish, cook, enjoy nature, explore and I rarely leave home without a camera.

I prefer one large store if possible, but defining a niche can be difficult. Certainly un-related niches are better if they can be divided. In my case, I began with fish_fishing_seafood, which is pretty much self explanitory. Later I wanted to include some regional art so I decided to launch a second store. After considering a variety of regional themed titles, I finally decided to define my niche as simply "North America". Looking back now, fish, fishing and seafood could all have been part of the North America store. Still both stores seem to work on their own and they are interlinked so that a visitor to either resource is made aware of the other.

What advice would you share with a friend or family member if they wanted to join zazzle? *	GO FOR IT! When I first set up my shop, I probably had 50 products. They sat there for a few months, with me unable to do anything else with it due to my shift work schedule at the time. Then I got a sale. When my hours at work settled down to normal, I focused more time on my store. Regularly adding designs and learning my way around some promoting options has progressed to becoming a Pro Seller in 2 years. My income from Zazzle pays for my own domain and hosting and various gifts for friends. :)

How has zazzle changed your life? *	Zazzle has given me a creative outlet for my photography and artwork. Zazzle lets me express my ideas and themes in a world wide context. It has also helped me be a lot less shy about my work. While I've always drawn and taken photos, with the exception of personal web pages and a couple photo sites, I never really promoted my work. I never thought it was good enough to sell, but sell it does and that makes me happy.

What advice would you share with a friend or family member if they wanted to join zazzle? *	Come up with some ideas, no matter how silly they may seem and start designing. It is amazing what people find interesting to buy. I have several photos that I posted even tho I didn't think people would be interested. Surprise, people did! Once there, just keep plugging away and designing. Don't worry if you don't make a sale immediately or not, it does take time for the products to get out there. Make sure you have good tags and promote the heck out of your shop everywhere you can.

Zazzle came into my life one day as a little recreational hobby, a stress-reliever from my job, and something that I found fun to do...I didn't realize it would become such a big part of my existence! Zazzle has changed my life in many ways. It gave me an outlet for my creative abilities, and a way to share my photography, and thoughts with the world. It showed me how to use SEO, graphic art, and learn a little html...still learning every day I must say! I learned a lot about all of these things from the helpful people we like to call "Zazzlers"...I am proud to be a part of their community, and I hope one day to have a fraction of their knowledge!

What advice would you share with a friend or family member if they wanted to join zazzle? *
I would tell them to be open to everything! The sky's the limit if you want to work hard, and put in the time and effort to grow your store, and make it successful. I would also tell them if someone gives you advice in the forums to take it all on board, even if it doesn't seem to make sense to you in the beginning. Constructive criticism is meant to help you, and even if at first you don't like to hear it, check into what they're suggesting, find out about the things you've never heard of, ask lots of questions, and never feel silly/dumb doing so...the forums are full of helpful knowledgeable people who absolutely love to help newcomers! Jump in with both feet, try new things, and keep creating every day! It takes time to be found on the web...but don't worry about sales at first, just create quality products, pay attention to detail in the making of them, ie. placement of image, description, correct tags, etc., learn about promoting your products, and eventually you will be screaming into the Forum with "I've made my first sale!"

What do you do when you are not zazzling? *
Well, now that I've recently retired from a long career in nursing...nothing! :0) No...I'm kidding...I try to do nothing, but it never seems to work! I piddle around in my garden trying to make sense of it after years of semi-neglect. I piddle around my house, am in the process of de-cluttering my closet, drawers, and oh..why don't I just say it...MY WHOLE HOUSE! :) I spend time with my grandchildren now as I no longer have to fit them in between my 12 hr shifts which is nice! I would like to take some graphic art courses, and maybe photography as I'm self-taught in both. And, last but not least, I spend more time with my wonderful fiance! We both love nature, travel, and of course I take lots of photo's to use on Zazzle!

I have one Mega store, which is the one I started out with...I think most Zazzler's start out this way, but I could be wrong? I filled it with a lot of different categories, and then one day decided to branch out with a niche store which is all about Quotations and I use them on my own images, or just text. Recently I have started a new niche store about Texas... and am in the process of trying to get my newest baby to stop creeping along and stand up on their own two feet and toddle! It really is just like having children, you give birth, nurture them, and then try to get them to stand up on their own and be independent! I like both ideas...niche stores are harder to get going unless you have a REALLY popular niche of some kind!

How has zazzle changed your life? *	I eat, sleep, live and breathe Zazzle. It has opened up my eyes to the beauty in everything around me, and lets me see the world from a new perspective. Anything and everything is a potential product. The ordinary becomes extraordinary; textures, colors, scenes, expressions become something beyond themselves when placed perfectly on an iphone case or some other item. What is mundane or boring, everyday stuff to me could be exactly what someone is looking for and my next best seller.

What advice would you share with a friend or family member if they wanted to join zazzle? *	Read & Learn about templates, making text areas template fields, and organizing before you get too carried away with product creation. You'll learn better by DOING, but try to really take your time learning the ropes in the beginning before you have hundreds of products that need to be fixed or moved.
What other PODs do you use? *	Cafepress
What do you do when you are not zazzling? *	I'm a wife and mom, living on a hobby farm, with a parttime job on the side. Life is good, but always busy! When I'm not Zazzling, I'm usually thinking about Zazzling. I enjoy being outside getting my hands dirty in the garden, photography, and of course family outings.
How many stores do you have on zazzle? *	2-4
I chose to run niche stores, but as few as possible, and with quite broad themes. I think I ended up with fairly targeted keywords but still have enough leg room to expand in any direction that works, and to appeal to a wider audience. It also gives me what I consider a nice balance between product creation time and the advertising efforts a store requires. Customizing storefronts, creating category folders and organizing etc is not my strong suit, so I don't want multiple stores to manage that would take time away from the creative part I enjoy the most. A mega store would not work for me either, since I am not an orderly, organized person!

How has zazzle changed your life? *	Zazzle is part of the reason why I can work school hours from home and still be here for my family. I love to take photos and also to write and these are the two things that I'm now paid to do! When I started with Zazzle I was just uploading a few photos from my hard drive and felt quite cynical about making money. I'm now getting paid every month! I'm not a great artist by any stretch of the imagination, but I do appreciate other people's talent which is why I love to promote other Zazzlers and the majority of my income does come from referrals.
Zazzle is a... *	Part Time Job
Just do it - you don't have to be a great artist, you can upload photos or make up funny phrases for bumper stickers, mugs, t-shirts etc. The thing that stops most people from earning money on Zazzle (in my opinion) is not doing anything. Upload a few designs and then instead of sitting back and waiting for them to sell, upload a few more! It's important to also promote your designs if you want people to see them so if you think a friend will love your funny t-shirt send it to them! Visit the Zazzle forum and use opportunities to promote your work on other people's sites/blogs etc. If you belong to facebook set up a page to promote your store, if you use twitter then tweet about your designs. Get some business cards with your Zazzle store on them and hand them out, basically be pro-active.

What do you do when you are not zazzling? *	I write on Squidoo, Wizzley and Hubpages. I also have several blogs that I use to either promote products - Zazzle and non-Zazzle - or to build up backlinks for my different sites. A number of my pages on Squidoo and Wizzley also include Zazzle products so although I'm not technically Zazzling it's all part of the earning process. A couple of my blogs are there simply to promote Zazzle products as well. If I'm out with my family my camera is always on hand to take photos that often end up on Zazzle over the following few weeks so it's almost like I'm never not Zazzling!!

Which do you prefer and why? 1 Mega Store or Several Niche Stores *	I initially just set up one store, I think that it would've been more successful if I had set up a niche as I'm all over the place in the different types of designs that I have available! I have set up a couple of niche stores more recently and will be setting up more as I think that these will be easier to promote. As I've already set up a lot of backlinks to my mega store, however, I won't be changing that over so I'll basically have a combination of a mega store and several niche stores in the long run.

Sometimes I put out other people's designs on my facebook page, with my referral ID and get a sale. In fact I probably have made more that way than just selling my own stuff.

How has zazzle changed your life? *	It has really allowed and encouraged me to be creative. I've been on another similar site (I won't name names!), but it never gave me the same level of opportunity as Zazzle. I'm always on the lookout now for new design ideas! Jump on in, the water's fine! Seriously, though, anyone with the smallest talent or desire should join. It doesn't cost anything to get started (BIG plus for Zazzle!), there's really no reason NOT to. As for what to do once you've joined up? Create, create, create! A single product of an entire section, it doesn't matter. Simple or complex. Just create things! You can't learn what works and what doesn't if you wait to create things until you are "sure" they will be a hit. One of the first things you should do is create at least one template set. This will make putting your design onto products much, much easier.

There are a ton of tutorials on the web that have further helped me hone my skills.

How has zazzle changed your life? *	What was supposed to be my retirement has turned into a full-time obsession. I'm still trying to decide if that's a good or bad thing. On the positive side, I'm learning about design and marketing, two skills I really need to acquire to better sell my photography, be it on Zazzle or elsewhere. On the negative side, I'm not doing all the hiking and traveling I though I'd be doing once I was retired, and I'm definitely missing out on those the naps in the hammock that I was so looking forward to!

Run away, and don't look back! What? Oh, serious advice? A matter of perspective, that, but OK. You'll need to learn a five things to have a successful store. 1) First, you'll need discipline. This is hard work. You need to treat this like it's a real business, otherwise it won't work. Show up for work and do whatever it takes to make your store work. 2) Be professional. This is a business. You need to run it as such, which means that you need to be professional. You can have fun with other shopkeepers in the Zazzle forums or on social networking sites, but at the end of the day, your degree of professionalism determines how your customers, and peers, will view your store. 3) Learn how to market yourself. "If you build it, they will come," is hogwash. No one will come to your store if you don't let the world know it exists. Learn how to use social media like blogs, twitter, google+, squidoo, facebook, and whatever else you can figure out so the world can learn about your store. Just remember, spamming is not marketing. Learn the difference between the two! 4) If you don't have design skills, learn them. You don't need a degree in design, but you do need to take the plain vanilla shop that Zazzle offers and make it a pleasant and distinctive place for your customers to shop in. At the very least, make it pretty and keep it organized. The shop is for your customer. Make it easy for them to spend their time and money there! 5) Use the Zazzle forums! Learn from other shopkeepers. They've been there, they know the ropes, and they're willing to share their knowledge with you. All they ask in return is that you be courteous, and share what you learn in turn.

What do you do when you are not zazzling? *	I like to hike, preferable with my wife and our dog, but sometimes just by myself. We have mountains, desert, and riparian habitat in our area, so there's no lack of places to go to get away from the computer and life's other distractions. I invariably take my camera with me for I love to photograph landscapes and nature in general.

Which do you prefer and why? 1 Mega Store or Several Niche Stores *	I think it depends on what kind of merchandise one sells. For myself, I do nature and travel photography. The two mesh together nicely so I think one store is sufficient for products bearing images of these two subjects. My other store is completely unrelated to photography, which is why it's not part of my main store. It's a true niche store, containing multiple designs on a single type of product. I created it so I could have some fun with it. And yes, I do make sales in this store! There's always a market for what you sell. You just have to direct it toward your store!

What is the most important thing you have learned since starting on zazzle? *	This may go counter to a lot of advice...but the most important thing I learned was to not take it too seriously. Though I love art...my main job is being a mom and I needed to keep that in focus. I was treating this as a business and it became an excuse to spend more time on it than I should have...so I've drawn back and started to treat this more as a hobby and that's lead to a better balance. Of course, this is "extra" income for me, so this might not be great advice for someone who's main source of income was Zazzle.

What do you enjoy most about zazzle? *	Oh, there's so much I love about Zazzle. I think my favorite thing is that customers can customize their products (yeah, CafePress just added that too. I also love the other interactive aspects (customers being able to rate and comment on products, choose favorites, join fan clubs, easily post products on their websites and blogs, etc). But I think the root of all that is that Zazzle seems to really listen to their customers and shopkeepers.

THINK AHEAD.... your shopid will be your url can you read it out loud and people know exactly how it will be spelled? is it easy to spell or write? does it sound like it looks? while "Teez4U" may look and sound like a fun play on words when you say it out loud to a friend or stranger they may hear "Teas for You" and think you sell tea....or "Tees for you" a golfer paradise with billions of golf tees...or even worse "Tease for you" a new naughty nudie site... So once you have thought about it and picked an appropriate shopid....it is time to add product STOP. THINK AHEAD... read everything and anything you can about copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws...breaking these could mean not only time lost when products are removed but big law suits Decide how to organize your shop....having to move everything around later is a huge undertaking. listen to advice given by other shopkeepers and read WHY they choose to organize one way over the other, yes some of it will be complete opposite of each other, but you need to hear both sides of the issue then decide which is better for you based on why those people do things the way they do them. decide - do you want to be an artist and stick to your artistic integrity even if it means less sale, or do you want to be a business person and know your art may not sell in the ideal format as you want it but you will be drawing a paycheck....this will help you choose if you are going to offer just a small selection or a large one... Read about SEO and make sure you follow the advice from the beginning as you write descriptions tags and titles....my best advice in this is that search engines cannot see pictures you have to tell them about the picture...using as many words as you can now you have your store and you are adding products so it is time to start getting sales... I have both, 1 mega store for my original designs that do not have anywhere better to go....and then i have niche stores for different themes. some of the themes are separated because they could be offensive to a selection of shoppers so i keep them separate. some are separate for SEO reasons...a shop with just 100 designs with a very closely tied set of keywords will appear to search engines to be an authority in that field and will therefore rank higher in a search engine on that topic then another store that also has 100 designs in that field but also has 10,000 designs in other niches so the keywords are more diluted.

Hmmm, so many! I think the most important thing was when creating products to remember to make them templates! I made so many things in the beginning...for quite a long time...before I finally clued in to what a "template" actually was, and how if I didn't do it that way, the customer couldn't customize the design (unless they had some inside knowledge)...even though I was telling them in the description that they could! Aaargh! I had to re-make a lot of those items, don't waste your time...make them a template! Also if there are parts, like your copyright name that you don't want removed, then you must "lock" that field...very important!

How has zazzle changed your life? *	Zazzle has given me a place to showcase my art and photography on great products! Before the files were just languishing in my sketchbooks, hard drives, and on bookshelves. Now my pictures of all types (animals, music, floral, sunsets, beaches, etc!), my pencil drawings, my acrylic paintings, and my other flat craft items are displayed in one place for the whole world to see! I have a reason to take more pictures, paint more scenes, come up with new designs and art forms just so I can put them up on zazzle!

What advice would you share with a friend or family member if they wanted to join zazzle? *	Learn the ropes first. Decide how you want to organize your shop and start from the beginning with a system that makes sense from a shoppers point of view. Wasting your time moving products around means you aren't making any new designs! Decide on your categories and subcategories, make great folder images for them, and upload straight into them. It will make your life much easier!

Several things: 1) JUST DO IT! 2) Don't expect to make anything more than what you put into it. I do okay with what limited promotion I do, and I know I could do better, but I'm comfortable with my level of income compared to my efforts. 3) Pay attention to what you design, HOW you design and how it fits on a product. It hurts all Zazzlers when customers come into the website and find pages and pages of unadulterated crap put out there by folks who have zero business being in the business. 4) Be ready to tag, tag, tag and describe, describe, describe! 5) One final word: FORUM The Zazzle forum is your first, best resource for information. Read it. A lot. Search for answers there before you start posting. They're all there. Seriously. Everything you need to know, written down for the masses by all of us who have been there, done that and designed the t-shirt. And lastly, mark up your products around the 30% range, minimum. What do you do when you are not zazzling? *	Like I mentioned, I'm a professional actor and sometimes stage manager and assistant director. My literary junk food, though, are the Star Wars extended universe novels. Love them! Huge fan of Gregory Maguire (Wicked, et al), too! I'm also a Netfix junkie on top of the several regular broadcast television shows I keep up with. And yes, my name is Mike and I'm addicted to Facebook.

I have one mega store and a couple of niche stores and here's why: The Bluebonnet Shop came about because I wanted to give mom a way to promote those specific designs without have to worry about her referrals being turned off or embarrassed by some of the content in my main shop. LMH Shoes came about when the Keds were first introduced and I had ideas for designs that would be good on shoes, but not anything else (in my opinion). But the way my main shop is organized, it just didn't make sense to have a "shoes" category so bam! A new shop was born. And ignored. And I intend on rectifying that soon. In the end, I can say I'm a fan of both megashops and niche shops. I get a lot of feedback from shoppers and other Zazzlers who love my main shop and the huge variety it offers. But I totally see the need and desire of others who like to have the niche shops. I'm currently contemplating spinning off some of my merchandise that have very specific target markets, like my LMH BearWear line for that segment of the gay population, or my Leather Pride line.

When he visited over the holidays, we reviewed his site and I told him about tags and how they should describe the image. He is an artist in nearly all forms of art (painting, sculpting, etc.). I suggested that he could use any of his art at Zazzle by taking a good digital photograph. We went out and bought him the same model of camera that I use.

What do you do when you are not zazzling? *	I frequently take long drives with my camera. One never knows what one will see that will make a good "mug" shot. I read at least a half hour every day. It is amazing what will trigger a Zazzle "aha" moment. I might be reading an historical novel and some phrase or character insight will trigger an idea that I should go out to photograph.

I have created digital art for years and loved it. Before zazzle, I always had to create a product to put my graphics on. In a typical day, I would spend the majority of my time creating or finding products, finding reliable suppliers, and packing. Design time was squished into spare time. This was fine for a while, but it became clear that I spent a lot more time managing the products than I did creating the pictures. I began looking for an alternative. That’s when I found zazzle. It allows me to do what I love without having to worry about supplies, orders, quality. Zazzle takes care of all of that! It allows me to do more of my passion and less of the cumbersome tasks of running a business. Zazzle has changed something else in my life too. I have never been able to settle down to one style. With most artists, they develop a style that people identify with them. After a while, you see an image and you recognize the artist without even looking at the name. I was never able to do that. I am all over the board with designs, colors, and subjects. But with zazzle, it works out fine; for different artwork – I set up a new store!

What advice would you share with a friend or family member if they wanted to join zazzle? *
For those who are just starting out, I suggest downloading the zazzle templates and doing some research on graphic size, resolution, type. There is nothing worse than finishing a picture and then discovering it is too small for the product. I think it also helps to focus on a set of products to begin with and then experiment with additional ones as you go along. I started out doing cards and mouse pads. Now, about the only thing I don’t do is skateboards and shoes. Tool wise I invested in Photoshop. But Corel’s Paint Shop Pro is good also. Then there is Gimp which is free. If you are into abstracts almost any paint program will suffice, although it might limit your designs somewhat due to lack of bells and whistles. The best advice I can give for someone starting out is to plunge in and get some experience. If you are interested in creating graphics, developing clever witticisms, or just creating personalized gifts for the family, get started. It’s great. You’ll love it.

What do you do when you are not zazzling? *	When I am not zazzling, I am kind of boring. I have several cats and a dog. They seem to monopolize my time going out, coming in, it is snack time, I want to be held…. well, you get the picture. I also like to landscape. Some people garden, I landscape. The landscaping supply companies around here must gasp each time I place an order, “She is doing what with 4 tons of river rock and she wants it when?” Throw in a terrific best friend, a wonderful sister, and brother-in-law, and you have my day to day life.

Don't put your whole life story or everything you've ever linked to your page or every top100 club and forum ad pic you belong to in your description because nobody likes reading that. Keep it short and simple and let them get to your products asap (I have trouble with this myself.) Learn what Squidoo is and what it's good for, and get on every other social networking site you can and link back.... Have a sense of humor and get used to the bitter taste of defeat.

Pretty pictures are nice to look at, but customers are more prone to buy images if they're part of an attractive design. Even the best images in the most attractive designs won't sell if no one sees them. Customers need to be found and persuaded to purchase products. That old saying about, "If you build it, they will come," just doesn't work on the Internet.

How has zazzle changed your life? *	Well, I have 2 brand new computers sitting in my home office which allow my husband and I to enjoy online games togther without having to worry about the dismal "Lag" issue. Zazzle has also "forced" (and I say that in a nice way) me to carry my camera with me everywhere I travel. I never carried one unless I was in the field working, but now it is a permanent part of my backpack.

What do you do when you are not zazzling? *	I am an avid online gamer so I alternate between Zazzle and my games while at the computer. I love to travel and try and go on a trip once a month to see something new.

Which do you prefer and why? 1 Mega Store or Several Niche Stores *	Well, I have one Mega Store and 3 Niche shops, so can I say BOTH! I use the mega store to bring new groups of ideas to the marketplace and when I think I have enough in that category I branch it off into its own store. StateOfMine is a perfect example of this. I was asked to create a mug for someone with the South Carolina State Flag and Motto on it. I placed this in my main store and other people bought it and asked for other states. The category grew quickly and become its own shop earlier this year.

To a large extent, my life revolves around my Zazzle shops. I'm primarily a writer but have always loved art. My mother was a painter and graphic designer. She taught me how to draw when I was a young girl and drawing was my primary hobby all the way through college and into my twenties, when I added painting with acrylics, pastels, and colored pens, as well as textile arts. Then I got so caught up in my writing that I let my artwork drop. Becoming a Zazzle artist and shopkeeper helped me rediscover the joy of creating art and led me to expand my artwork into digital painting, as well as graphic and text design.

What advice would you share with a friend or family member if they wanted to join zazzle? *
How you go about setting up your shop(s) depends on the kind of person you are. I wrote an article for HubPages on this subject, because it's so interesting to compare all the various approaches one can take. I'm a jump-into-the-deep-end kind of person, so I just dived right in and learned from doing. This has its pros and cons, as I was (and, to a certain extent, still am) always playing catch-up on the technical aspects of shopkeeping. But the advantage to just diving in is that you are immediately involved in the creative and artistic side of shopkeeping. And that's what is most important to me. For those who have a more reasoned approach to life, starting out with Zazzle's tutorials might be the best approach. Then you will grasp the technical elements first. Whatever approach you take, my advice is to just do it! That's the only way you'll find out if online shopkeeping is for you. And, last but not least, yo u'll most likely have to market your shops through all the available venues, including blogs, e-zines, online writing that's related to your shops, and social networking. At first, this can seem a daunting task. But as you become accustomed to marketing, it becomes simply an extension of your shop work and a way to share with others what brings you fulfillment and joy.

What do you do when you are not zazzling? *
I'm a writer and publish online on HubPages and in my e-zine Art-Online. I'm also a novelist, short story writer, and songwriter. My greatest joy is writing musicals, for which I write the script, the music and the lyrics. I love reading, particularly audiobooks and am taking the first steps toward becoming an audiobook narrator. I email a lot, with personal friends and my online colleagues. I watch streaming TV and movies on Netflix. And last, but not least, I have an adorable Miniature Poodle named Albemarle, nicknamed Albie, who is the light of my life and with whom I converse all through the day. In the evening, he takes me for walks. As an added plus, he gives me the opportunity to supply him, day and night, with dog treats and morsels of food from my own plate. What a champ!

I prefer having a series of niche stores. They're easier for me to organize than a single mega-store and simpler to market, as each one has a particular theme. Since I'm very visual, I find working on varied shops refreshing. My shops focus on a variety of niches – dogs, cats and wild animals; Victorian America; Bonsai trees and Haiku verses; special occasions, holidays, and Scottish Clans; and kids games and toys, card games, and humor. I also have a shop in which I offer matching stationery, posters and prints of the paintings and photos that I showcase in my online studio, "Ocicat Studio."

What do you enjoy most about zazzle? *	Even though this store is not very old, I have been using the zazzle platform for two years. While I have been using it, I have found that they have excellent customer service, and the fellow zazzlers are more than welcoming. When there is a problem, you can ask and have your answer within a day with most cases.

What is your favorite thing to do when not Zazzling? *	I tend to knit and listen to my favorite upbeat songs, while belting out the lyrics, in tandem. It is quite relaxing!

What is the most important thing you have learned since starting on zazzle? *	You can never tell what peoples' tastes are going to be, so dismissing a design idea because you wouldn't buy it is a bad idea. Every person has a different taste in color and design. I've learned to keep my eyes open and look at things I would have dismissed before, from art on walls to tshirt designs even to how invitations are set up.

What is your favorite thing to do when not Zazzling? *	Just one thing? Ok, right now, I like to take care of my plants, whether trimming the bonsai or encouraging the edibles to grow grow grow! My bonsai are these great succulents called Portulacaria afra for the most part, so they don't take much watering and I get to spend my "plant" time styling them. The edibles (currently 5 different types of hot peppers) have the reward of things to eat every few weeks!
